Associations in the DAAC

The Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) is a consortium of the leading national advertising and marketing trade associations, consisting of:

Association of Canadian Advertisers
The Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) is the country’s only industry organization exclusively dedicated to client-marketers. Since its founding in 1914, the ACA’s goal has been to help members maximize the full value of their investments in all forms of marketing communications. We do this by providing members-only products and services tailored to the unique needs of marketers, including confidential consultations on a wide range of MarCom topics; a suite of education courses, conferences and webinars; ‘best practices’ publications and proprietary research; and industry-leading advocacy.

Association of Creative Communications Agencies
The Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C), formerly known as the Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies (AAPQ), is the voice of almost 70 agencies in Quebec of different sizes, configurations, and specialties, but all with one thing in common: a commitment to creative communications. Its members generate more than 75% of the industry’s revenues in Quebec and contribute to the success of companies here and abroad. Our passion is reflected in various initiatives that aim to guide our member agencies when facing issues of an economic, technological, or social nature and in this way we aim to ensure vitality and excellence within the entire industry

Canadian Marketing Association
The Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) embraces Canada’s major business sectors and all marketing disciplines, channels and technologies. CMA programs help shape the future of marketing in Canada by building talented marketers and exceptional business leaders and by demonstrating marketing’s strategic role as a key driver of business success. The Association’s members make a significant contribution to the economy through the sale of goods and services, investments in media and new marketing technologies and employment for Canadians. Against this backdrop, the Canadian Marketing Association is the national voice for the Canadian marketing community, with CMA’s advocacy efforts designed to create an environment in which marketing can succeed.

Canadian Media Directors’ Council
The Canadian Media Directors’ Council (CMDC) is a non-profit body comprised of media agency CEOs representing advertising and media management companies working to enhance the effectiveness of marketing communications in Canada.  Our mandate is to show leadership in research, advocacy for the rights of advertisers, guidance to government and regulatory bodies, mentoring of our talent and investment in better practices for our community. We are a unique organization internationally, in that we are a stand-alone media agency association which plays a pro-active role on the Canadian marketing communication industry on behalf of our clients, our agencies and all media vendors, to ensure a transparent and progressive marketplace.

Conseil des directeurs médias du Québec
Created in 1986, the Quebec Media Directors’ Council (CDMQ) is a non-profit organization comprised of over 20 communication agencies in Quebec. The CMDQ’s mission is to represent and ensure the continuous education of media professionals in Quebec. The CDMQ encourages healthy market dynamics between clients, media partners and member agencies. This is accomplished through debates and perspective on questions about the efficiency of the industry, training programs, the development of tools and research projects, as well as rewarding excellence in media creativity (Prix Media).

Institute of Communication Agencies
The Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) is the professional business association which represents Canada’s communication and advertising agencies. The ICA’s mission is to champion commercial creativity, amplify the industry’s economic impact, and to embrace and drive change. As such, the ICA promotes thought leadership, higher standards and best practices. It serves as the largest source of information, advice, education and training for Canada’s communication and advertising industry. ICA’s member agencies and subsidiaries account for over 75 per cent of all national advertising in Canada, with an economic impact worth more than $19 billion annually.
